Sports

Sports:

‘Sound mind in a sound body’ is an unavoidable necessity for all, particularly for all school-going children. Inclusion of games in the curriculum of studies is, therefore, very important in modern times. ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’, we want Jack to become a bright young man. Therefore we encourage sports in our school.

Though the School don’t have a play ground of its own but still it is not an obstacle to our “spirit of sports” and enthusiasm. We arrange practice in other local grounds. Inspite of all these difficulties we participate in various games like football, Volley ball, hockey, Cricket, Football Tennis & Athletics and established a great winning record. Many students of our school have represented Moledina High School & Junior College in National level competitions.

Achievments:

  1. Winner of Tug-of –war Shield Hockey
  2. Winner of All India Aga Khan Hockey Tournament
  • Winner of Thamburaj football trophy

Apart from wining as a team, the students have excelled in sports and got selected in National level in athletics and Hockey.

  1. Shaikh Imran (javelin throw)
  2. Singh Umakanta (Shot put)
  • Khan Musharraf, Washarman Saquib and Bansiwal Ankush (Hockey)

The Annual Sports Meet:

The annual Sports Meet is the most awaited event in the school calendar. It’s a matter of great pleasure that we are conducting Annual Sports continuously since last 49 years. Management gives equal importance to sports as it gives to studies.

It is very unfortunate that our school does not possess a Sports Ground of its own. We are extremely handicapped in this regard. Inspite of these difficulties the Annual Sports are arranged on a grand scale by renting sports fields available around the school.

A two days annual sport meet starts with the glittering opening ceremony commenced with the arrival of Guests. The most solemn part of the ceremony is the Relay of the Torch by the school’s noteworthy sportsperson and the Athletes’ March Past. The Chief Guest administers the oath to the athletes; thereafter hoist the flag and declaring the Meet open, amidst thunderous applause. The students are grouped in four houses i.e. Moledina House, Omer House, Sheriff House and Chinoy House. The competitions in 100m, 200m & 400m running events, long jump, shot put, slow cycling & musical chair are conducted and the most adorable event of the meet is relay race. The Meet is declared close following the lowering of the flag, and all gathered dispersed with the expectations of yet another exciting, closely-contested Sports Meet the following year.
